Choc-Oat-Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks butter, softened)
  • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 T milk
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 1/4 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked) (I used old-fashioned)
  • 1 12 oz package (2 cups) Nestle chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional – I never used)

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Beat butter and sugars until creamy.
  • Add eggs, milk, and vanilla – beat well.
  • Add flour, baking soda, and salt – mix well.
  • Stir in oats, chocolate morsels, and nuts (if using) – mix well.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 9-10 minutes for chewy cookie or 12-13 minutes for a crispy cookie
  • Cool on cookie sheet or wire rack
