This recipe can be made with canned or fresh clams. Fresh clams taste better, but canned are more affordable and easy to find in the grocery store. Shells for the stuffed clams are harder to find… if you are getting the clams fresh ask your fishmonger for a dozen shells. You buy them at a craft store. Just wash them. After cooking the stuffed clams in the shells, wash the shells in the dishwasher and reuse them.
