Brian’s Asian Meatballs

Brians Asian Meatballs

This is another recipe my son, Brian, found which I had to share. He and I made this last night and it was delicious. I used turkey but you can use any ground meat depending upon the texture and taste you prefer.

We served this as a meal and so I made Jasmine rice and served the meatballs and sauce over the rice. I can see this being served at a party as an appetizer displayed with fancy cocktail toothpicks or put into a crock pot to keep warm so that guests can serve themselves.

  • 1 pound ground chicken, turkey, or pork
  • 1 cup Panko
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 tablespoon sriracha
  • 2 teaspoons fresh chopped garlic
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For Meatballs:

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit
  • Add all ingredient to a large bowl and mix with hands until well blended.
  • Make meatballs using a melon baller and place them on a foil lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or until meatball is cooked through

For Sauce:

  • In a large skillet, add all ingredients except corn starch. Mix well with whisk.
  • Heat until boiling and then whisk the cornstarch in continuing to stir until thickened.
  • Add meatballs to thickened sauce and serve over Jasmine rice.
