Cincinnati Chili

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb. ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tsp. ground chipotle chile
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 lb. spaghetti
  • 4 oz. sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 green onions
  • salt
  • black pepper

Directions

  • In 7- to 8-quart slow cooker bowl, combine beef, beans, tomato sauce, onion, brown sugar, cocoa, chipotle, cumin, cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon each salt and black pepper; stir together, breaking up ground beef. Replace lid and cook on Low 6 hours.
  • When ready to serve, spoon over spaghetti. Top with Cheddar and green onions.
